Wow!!! Does anyone else feel like 2014 went way too fast? As we get closer to the end of 2014, I am reflecting on what 2014 actually meant to me.
The biggest thing that comes to mind is CHANGE...
My eldest son Jay left home in January to join the circus. I cried a swimming pool of tears but... I let him go to find his own way in the world. It was harder to let go than I ever imagined but let go I did and it taught me a huge lesson. It doesnt matter how much we love our children, how much we want to hang onto them forever, how much we think they are ours, the real truth is that they are their own person and have to leave the nest to start their own journey independently. The biggest lesson learnt here for me is that the time we have with our children whilst they are growing is the most important time of all. Dont spend it whinging and whining on how messy they are, how noisy they are, how much they eat etc Once they are gone, these very traits we once whinged about are the ones we miss most of all.
In March I closed my shopfront of 9 and a half years. I have run my business ever since via my website, telephone etc. I thought that this would give me more time but in fact time has been even more precious as I have been busier than ever.
So many things have changed this year, but most of all I have changed. This year I have realised for the first time ever in my life how extremely valuable my time is. I am going to use this realisation as I step into the New Year of 2015. I am going to be kinder to myself, more loving to myself and save some time just for me.
Over the past 10 years of running Jazeras Party & Event Shop, I have found myself taking on more decorating jobs than I should due to my inability to say no. Many people for some reason leave the ordering of the decorations to the absolute last minute and then call me in a pickle begging for help. I have always found a way to fit such peoples requests in, however it usually means that I have to pull an all nighter in order to fit them in which means that I miss out on sleep. In 2015, I promise to help as much as I can but... I need some of my customers to be a little bit more organised... Please try and give me a bit more notice. With notice I can organise more staff which means that the job can be done without the loss of sleep...
With that being said, I look forward to getting more creative than ever in 2015. If you have something coming up in 2015 and want something outside the box as far as decorations go, please get in contact with me for a free consultation with no obligation.
I would like to wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas and an extremely happy and safe New Year. I would like to thank you for your support over the years and I would like to welcome a continuation of that very support. Without our customers we would not exist so thank you very much.
